Assigned Department Objectives

Teaching Method

Outline:
The aim of this course is to understand the general characteristics of metal materials that make up the majority of machinery and structural members, understand the advantages and disadvantages of various materials, and to be able to select appropriate materials in mechanical design and production.
Style:
Classes will be mainly conducted through lectures, and there will be exercises and assignments as appropriate.
Notice:
Rather than simply memorizing the topics discussed during the lecture, students must fully understand the background behind the need for the material, the characteristics and disadvantages of the material. This course's content will amount to 90 hours of study in total. These hours include the learning time guaranteed in classes and the standard self-study time required for pre-study / review, and completing assignment reports.
Students who miss 1/3 or more of classes will not be eligible for evaluation.
