Course Objectives

At the completion of this course, students will be able to
1) Use addition theorem of trigonometric function and formulas derived from addition theorem.
2) Calculate distance between two points and section formula for internal division.
3) Express a line by an equation, and understand relationship (parallel/vertical) between two lines.
4) Understand definition and property of quadratic curve (circle, ellipse, hyperbola, parabola), and understand the characteristics of graphs.
5) Represent inequalities as regions.

Teaching Method

Outline:
In this course, students will learn basic mathematical concepts and mathematical skills (calculations of numbers and expressions, arithmetic operations of polynomials, factorization, the remainder theorem, calculation of fractional expressions, equations and inequalities, etc.).
Exercises are conducted in parallel with lectures to acquire mathematical and computational techniques required in engineering and other subjects.

Mini-exams may be carried out.
Evaluations will be made comprehensively by written exams (making up about 80% of the grade), by exercises and homework (making up about 20% of the grade).

Can take makeup exam in need aid up to maximum of 50 points.
