Teaching Method

Outline:
Students learn the drawing method, design method of simple structures, and usage of 3D CAD software. Students acquire knowledge regarding design, drawing, and 3D models of infrastructures through practical design and creating 3D models of structures. The tutor of this subject has an experience as an engineer of bridge fabricator. He engaged in the design of steel bridges and steel structures. He conducts a class concerning design calculation of simple structures and creating procedures of the 3D model and 2D drawing using 3D CAD software based on his experiences.
Style:
The design method of a simple structure and the operation procedure of 3D CAD software are explained in a lecture style. After that, each student conducts design calculations, drawing, and creating 3D models using 3D CAD software under the given condition.
Notice:
Students should have an interest in the infrastructure around us. This subject has content the summation of learning time guaranteed in class and standard self-learning time including required time for conducting preparation, review, and assignment corresponds to 90 hours.
Students who miss 1/4 or more of classes will not be eligible for evaluation.

1st Outline of drawing Can understand lines and characters in drawing, equal division method of line segments by hand drawing, classification of projection methods and orthographic projection methods, size of the drawing, the layout of a figure, rules of dimension, and layout method.
2nd Outline of 3D CAD software Can understand the outline of 3D CAD software and how to install it.
3rd Design of the bolted joint 1 Can understand the structure and type of the bolted joint, and bolt-hole spacing
4th Design of the bolted joint 2 Can understand the structure and type of the bolted joint, and bolt-hole spacing
