教育方法等
概要:
This course helps students develop the academic skills and language needed for university study and in the work place. Classroom activities provide ample practice on integrated skills that develop academic language, critical thinking and independent learning essential in academic and working contexts.
授業の進め方・方法:
Students are expected to have a positive attitude toward listening to and speaking English and are required to actively engage in classroom activities and to try to communicate using English. This class provides an opportunity for students to interact with a native English teacher and uses authentic academic texts and news articles. While students may find using authentic materials challenging at first, they will learn strategies during the course to help them become accustomed to working with such texts.
In addition to studying Academic English, students will further develop their presentation, discussion, and opinion stating skills.
注意点:
Students must bring a dictionary to class. Students are required to study outside of class using various media, such as television, radio, and the Internet, in order to improve their English abilities and deepen their understanding of other cultures.
