教育方法等
概要:
This course provides students with skills and knowledge to give effective and powerful presentations in English. Students will learn the strategies to build speech about themselves, their friends, favorite places, possessions, and memorable experiences. Students will also learn non-verbal communication skills as well as speech skills.
授業の進め方・方法:
I would like to encourage students to organize and express their ideas in English, in order to prepare for providing a presentation.
The classes will always begin with some warming-up English quizzes or small activities. We will learn some useful expressions, rules, and tips of English presentation on topics of interest. Presentations will be done during the course.
※Re-evaluation: a re-exam is conducted to students whose evaluation is less than 60. The scores of mid-term and final exams (30%+40%=70%) are replaced with re-exam one.
※この科目は学修単位科目のため、事前・事後学習としての課題を課す。定期試験のための勉強時間も総合し、60時間の自学自習時間が必要である。
注意点:
For self-study;
Students should get as much practice listening to English as possible. I recommend watching movies and TV, and listening to music in English. Singing songs in English is a great way to improve speaking skills.
To prepare for classes;
Do the above, and be ready to try out new things. Always bring a notebook to class. Be ready to ask questions about material not being understood. Be ready to talk about things that happened during the past week.
To review;
Look over the material covered in previous classes and any extra worksheets given in class. Be sure you understand any new vocabulary words.
