中学校と高専1年での既習事項をもとに、SDGs（Sustainable Development Goals: 持続可能な開発目標）に関するテーマについて説明したり意見を述べたりすることができる。オンラインプログラムを活用して海外の英語のネイティブの教員による マンツーマンの英語指導のもと、インタラクティブなコミュニケーションをとることができる。授業外にもオンラインプログラムを通して、リーディング、文法、リスニング、スピーキング等の自主学習をして、積極的に英語学習に取り組むことができる。実用英語検定準2級合格をめざす。

概要:
【開講学期】Autumn Quarter: 2 hours a week
To develop basic communication skills in SDGs, based on vocabulary, sentence patterns, and grammatical items learned in junior high school. In addition, through learning English, students will gain knowledge of the language and how to use it, and understand the culture behind it.
授業の進め方・方法:
The emphasis is on listening and speaking as well as reading and grammar in the classroom, and students are required to actively speak in English during activities. This class provides an opportunity to develop their interactive communication skills under the one-on-one communication guidance of native English speakers. Students are expected to prepare online and handout assignments for the SDGs theme in advance.
注意点:
Students are expected to have a positive attitude to listen and speak English, actively engage in language activities, and try to communicate using English. Students must bring a dictionary to every class. In addition to class assignments, students need to work on self-study, such as listening to and reading English, and through the online program. Students are required to study outside of class in order to pass Grade Pre-2 of the Eiken Test in Practical English Proficiency.
