Students will familiarize themselves with basic Science and Technology (S&T) in English. They will learn English writing styles and terminologies (CV, e-mail, and short abstract). Ultimately, students will be able to present basic S&T materials in English in the final stage of the course. The course will also cover the basic grammar to be learnt during the past 6 years in their English education. The course will additionally focus on the TOEIC exam preparation.

概要:
【開講学期】冬学期週2時間
Students will continue to familiarize themselves with basic Science and Technology (S&T) in English. They will read scientific materials in English, and learn to comprehend and discuss the materials in English. In addition, students will learn English writing styles and terminologies. Ultimately, students will be able to read and comprehend basic S&T materials more quickly and express their opinions more openly in English. The course will also focus on the TOEIC exam preparation.
授業の進め方・方法:
Classes will be conducted primarily in English with a focus on the textbook. Additionally, students will read and discuss science and technology materials in English. The evaluation consists of the followings: 70% of the examination and 30% of homework/short tests and attitude during the class. The score over 60 points out of 100 points (total score) will be valued as a passing grade.
注意点:
Before classes: Read textbook out loud and write down the points of contents in English. During classes: Active participation is important. After classes: Review what you have learned and explore further.
