This course aims to familiarize students with issues of "Environment and Sustainable Development" by reading and talking about "e-waste", or electronic waste in English. Another goal of this course is to help students acquire effective presentation skills.
概要:
This class is designed for students who hope to acquire effective presentation skills and develop English proficiency. Students will also research and collect data to understand the environmental issue better.
授業の進め方・方法:
Students will read articles on e-waste, watch videos to gather background information on a topic which they choose, and make presentations to demonstrate what they find out by analyzing the problems. The Assertion Evidence Approach, a new method for presentation developed at Penn State University will be also introduced in class.
注意点:
The class is delivered in English and students will be required to participate in class actively and share their thoughts in English.
