Teaching Method

Outline:
This advanced course on Japanese regional history covers all periods from ancient times to the modern era. In particular, this lecture focuses on the regional/local history of “Etchu Toyama”.
Style:
In this lecture-style course, materials will be distributed at each session, and bibliographies, etc. will be introduced during class. The submission of printed work, impressions of class, etc. will occasionally be requested.

2nd Details on the region of Koshi Province① Understand details on the natural environment and ruins,relics of the Jomon and Yayoi periods, Fudodo ruins, and Egami A ruins.
3rd Details on the region of Koshi Province② Understand details on the region of Koshi Province, ruins/relics of the Kofun period and the appearance of metal tools, and Sugitani burial mound number 4.
4th Details on the region of Koshi Province③ Understand details on the politics, international situation, and foreign settlers of the Asuka period, as well as the Koma Shrine in the Sea of Japan area.
5th The birth of the ancient Ritsuryo system and Etchu Province① Understand the birth of the ancient Ritsuryo system and Etchu Province, the Gokishichido administrative units and Etchu Province, and excavated historical record/mokkan (wooden plate) reading.
