Course Objectives

①We will gain knowledge about the state of collapse and restructuring of international relations that have been repeated in the countries of the Japan Sea Rim during the ancient and early modern period.
②Understanding the "Tributary system" which has functioned as an outstanding international relationssystem in East Asia, consider the autonomous and heteronomous international positioning of Japan, Korea and China.

Course objectives
(1)The objective
We look back the history of inter-regional negotiation.,And we analyze the background of behavior that each region maintaine currently.
(2)Course aims
Language is not enough to develop "internationality". Let's think about it. Since modern times, people who can speak Korean, Russian and English have been produced in Japan. However, Japan has left a historical source of calamity with the Korean peninsula, the Soviet Union and the United States. The lecturer sees the cause as "the lack of knowledge and understanding of the behavior". Therefore, in this lecture, we look back on the history of inter-regional negotiations in Japan Sea Rim countries from ancient to early modern.

Student's final grade will be decided based on the following:
Midterm examination : 50%
Term-end examination : 50%
To pass, students must earn at least 60 points out of 100. Student who cannot pass is able to retake a resit. examination. The method and criteria for evaluation in resit conform to midterm and term-end examination.
