1. To achieve a basic level of vocabulary, grammatical accuracy, and reading comprehension required by the TOEIC tests.
2. To improve accurate comprehension through reading English passages about current affairs around the world.
3. To understand the usage of some fundamental functions of nouns, articles, prepositions, conjunctions, and verb tenses.
概要:
The course aims at helping students: 1) prepare for the TOEIC tests, 2) build further solid foundations for accurate reading comprehension, and 3) become aware of some fundamental functions of the English language. This is, as it were, the gate for technical English provided by the Department of International Business curriculum in the upper grades.
授業の進め方・方法:
Given the outline as such, the course is composed of three phases of English learning activities: Preparing for the TOEIC tests through 'mini' tests given at the beginning of the class, followed by reading activities for 'fresh' world topics, and exercises on some important English functions at the end.
注意点:
Over 60 points will be the criteria for obtaining credits. Otherwise, students are allowed to take a make-up test on request.
