Course Objectives
By the end of the course, students will be able to read introductory passages of various academic disciplies and engage in discussion. In addition, students will have a better understanding of organistion of English passages and will be able to write argumentative essays in English. The course serves as an introduction to academic research in an English-speaking environment.

Teaching Method
Outline:
In this course, students will read a wide range of reading materials on various topics from phychology to marketing. In addition, students will be encouraged to discuss in English in pairs or in groups.
At the end of each term, students are required to write argumentative essays based on the topics covered in the class.
Style:
The instructional emphasis is placed on interaction between the teacher and students in an English-speaking environment. Students are required to read many academic passages critically so that they are able to discuss topics covered in reading materials.
