Course Objectives

1. To improve comprehension, through dictation, by integratively utilising sound, spelling, understanding, and grammar.
2. To improve the listening and reading skills necessary for the TOEIC test.
3. To improve grammatical understanding required by Part 5.

Teaching Method

Outline:
The course aims at helping students acquire English proficiency required by the TOEIC test. Listening through dictation, grammar, and reading comprehension will be dealt with as major focuses.
Style:
Class begins with dictaion of about 15 minute-long, followed by a 'mini TOEIC test' composed of the seven parts. Finally, the class focuses on a particular grammatical item treated by the textbook using a handout material. Assessment will be done based on mid-term and end-of-term examinations.
Notice:
Over 60 points will be the criteria for obtaning credits. Otherwise, students are allowed to take a make-up test on request.
