Assigned Department Objectives
Teaching Method
Outline:
In this course, we will aim to understand modern Chinese affairs expressed through consecutive conversational sentences, and develop the ability to write and speak in Chinese about familiar modern events through various stories.
Style:
In order to develop the ability to "listen", "talk", "read", and "write" in Chinese, conversational ability in particular, we will spend the first 20 minutes of each lesson to conduct 1-minute free speech exercises. Next, after learning new phrases and grammar, students will understand modern Chinese affairs using consecutive conversational sentences. In order to deepen the students' understanding, we may incorporate Chinese materials that are related to the topics that we will learn about. Furthermore, students will be placed into pairs to create a skit in Chinese about modern events that are familiar in Japan based on various topics relating to modern Chinese affairs. Finally, students will present their skits and receive conversational guidance so that they can hold natural conversations in Chinese.
Notice:
As a study method, students must study at home every day and review and prepare for each lesson.
Students whose scores are less than 60 points may request to take a make-up exam. Students whose acquisition of units is acknowledged as a result of the make-up test will receive a score of 60 points.
