To build a solid base of English grammar through doing exercises in the textbook to improve writing and speaking skills
Outline:
Understanding grammar is essential for input (reading, listening) and output (writing, speaking) of English language. It means only good command of English grammar can result in mutual understanding of two parties (writer-reader, speaker-listener). In this class, with the same textbook used in the 1st grade, students study basic English grammar to build a solid base for improving basic language skills of English.
Style:
- Basically Teacher explains grammar points in each lesson, but students are asked to actively involved in the lesson through doing exercises and practicing writing and speaking. - Each lesson consists of explanation, doing basic exercises and extra exercises, writing and/or speaking practice, and a quiz as appropriate. -Students are required to prepare for and review grammar points before/after each lesson.
Notice:
- It is recommended to use a notebook, not to write answers of the exercises in the textbook. - Using smartphones in class is prohibited (use conventional dictionaries, not apps). - Cooperation in pair/group is expected in speaking practice. - Homework should be submitted by the deadline. - The syllabus is subject to change. - Credit for this class is given by the final score, 50 points or above. Any student whose point is lower than 50 can take a makeup exam in need to aid up to maximum of 50 points.
