Course Objectives

Students understand the theory of static mechanical design and the fatigue design, and can explain appropriate selection of the engineering materials for the mechanical components.

Teaching Method

Outline:
This course is aimed to learn the following contents.
1. The mechanical properties and machining or processing method of engineering materials for mechanical designing.
2. Basic knowledge of the fracture mechanics and fundamentals of static mechanical design and fatigue design.
3. Fundamentals of particle characterization and mechanical separations.
In this course, a teacher in charge of manufacturing and processing of materials in a company gives lessons on materials required for machine design in a lecture format, making use of the experience.
