Assigned Department Objectives

Teaching Method

Outline:
Our country has a complex landform and difficult natural conditions, and is also affected by many natural disasters. As a result, it is clear that social infrastructure can easily deteriorate without adequate maintenance. Therefore, it is important to carry out adequate conservation and maintenance as necessary, in a reasonable and efficient manner. In this course, students will learn the concepts and theories of infrastructure maintenance in civil engineering and environmental engineering.
This course will be held in a lecture style on infrastructure maintenance describing the actual condition, based on 30 some years of practical experience in designing concrete structures, inspecting various infrastructure facilities, infrastructure management services, etc. such as asset management, at a construction consulting company.
Style:
It will be held basically in a lecture style, and there will be submission of reports regularly to improve students' writing ability.
Liaison for this course at National Institute of Technology, Akashi College: Yasuyuki Nabeshima
Notice:
(1) Students actively participate in the presentation of opinions and exchange of opinions in class. (2) This course's content will amount to 90 hours of study in total. These hours include the learning time guaranteed in classes and the standard self-study time required for pre-study / review, and completing assignment reports.
Students who miss 1/3 or more of classes will not be eligible for evaluation.
