Assigned Department Objectives

Teaching Method

Outline:
Various transportation methods include land transportation, maritime traffic, and air transportation, all of which are essential to the social life of people. Among these transportation methods, land transportation using road and railway will be covered. Their current states, problem points, and future potential will be explained. While there are positive aspects brought on by transportation facilities, negative aspects such as pollution, destruction of environment and nature, etc. have become social issues, in recent times. Have a broad perspective as an engineer in transportation facilities. Learn the basic knowledge on planning, designing, construction, and maintenance, as someone who will be administering them.
This course will be held in a lecture style, and taught by an instructor who was in charge of traffic policies, etc. in Akashi City. The instructor will use one's experience to teach about traffic facilities.
Liaison: Yasuyuki Nabeshima
Style:
Classes will be conducted mainly in a lecture style. There will be exercise problems on traffic engineering.
For this course, an instructor who has been in charge of a series of tasks, from planning to construction in traffic policy, will use one's experience to raise questions on problems and cautions that has been encountered on the job. Classes will be conducted so that students will have a chance to individually think of solutions, and deepen their understanding.
Notice:
Regularly take an interest in topics related to traffic methods and facilities, and take care to collect various information from newspaper, etc. Students may use notes with one's own handwriting to answer questions on period exam for the first semester. They must take notes in class. This course's content will amount to 90 hours of study in total. These hours include the learning time guaranteed in classes and the standard self-study time required for pre-study / review, and completing assignment reports.
Students who miss 1/3 or more of classes will not be eligible for evaluation.
