Course Objectives
(1)To understand the planning of residential facilities (independent housing and collective housing)
(2)To understand the planning for education and welfare facilities (kindergartens, nursery schools, elementary and junior high schools, high schools, etc.)
(3)To understand the planning for cultural and exchange facilities (museums, museums, libraries, etc.).
(4)To understand the planning for medical and business facilities (hospital, office building, government office, department store, hotel, inn etc.)
(5) To make a presentation, to consult several resources and gather the information concisely and transmit it to others.

Assigned Department Objectives
Teaching Method
Outline:
This course focus on theories of architectural planning, such as school architecture, hospital architecture, and housing. The students will research the topics and in groups and make presentations.
Style:
10 of the 16 classes are students presentations. The students will make 10 groups. Each group will research about an architectural planing topic. The students will submit essays and make a presentation about the topic assigned. The students will deepen their knowledge through the process of researching, organizing the information, and communicating it to other students. The instructor, Mototsuka, will give supplements and add explanations to the student presentations.
Notice:
1 week previous the presentation the group should submit an abstract (A4-4pages).
The students should use PowerPoint in the presentations.
In addition, each student must submit an essay of 7 to 8 sheets about the basic plan of each facility.
Students attendance is required, and only a maximum of 5 absences is excused.
