Outline:
The purpose of this class is to further develop the basic design topics that have been learned so far, and to develop the ability to design space under various conditions that are complexly intertwined. The assignments are 1) renovation design for an educational facility that requires upgrading 2) National Technical College Design Competition.
In addition, one of the teachers (Kobayashi) currently works for the organizational design office. They are engaged in the latest architectural design and will give critiques and mini-lectures utilizing their knowledge and experiences.
Style:
This class will focus on drafts and critiques. In the first assignment, the students will first investigate and organize information about the conditions required at educational facilities, then analyze the college facilities. That will develop the students' ability to envision and design the necessary programs and spaces. The second assignment will help develop students' ability to understand the assignment deeply and express ideas in a group on a single presentation board by organizing ideas into one form. Mizushima and Higashino will be in charge of all classes. Kobayashi will be in charge of the 6th and 11th weeks.
Notice:
Students will be required to actively visit the site and try to collect the related materials. They will also be required to raise interest in a variety of information related to the architecture field daily, to voluntarily go see buildings, to develop creative ideas, and to learn methods and attitudes that are effective in architectural design.
Students who miss 1/4 or more of classes will not be eligible for a passing grade.
