Course Objectives


(1)To design a town hall, rationally organize the flow lines of various people, zoning of different functional spaces, and acquire skills to structure a complex architectural space.
(2)To design a collective housing building, with private, semi-private, semi-public, and public spaces, where the residents can know each other and have a sense of belonging to the area.
(3)To design considering the zoning, the site and neighboring area, and scenery.
(4) To develop the ability to express a proposal content for architectural design in clear Japanese, and respond to questions and other opinions.
(5)To make the various architectural drawings using CAD software.

Teaching Method

Outline:
To learn about the social impact and development process of architecture and space. The instructors will support the process of learning that narrows down the direction of design that each student deems desirable based on various information. Akio Kamiya is the founder of Akio Kamiya Architectural Laboratory and has been engaged in architectural design for 32 years.
Style:
At each stage of the design, show precisely how to think to create good architecture.
Notice:
From daily life, students are expected to heighten their interest in various topics in the field of architecture. To proactively experience site and visit architectural buildings. Learn methods and attitudes effective in architectural design, as well as develop an independent opinion. Students attendance is required, and only a maximum of 5 absences is excused.

1st Assignment: Design collective housing building (1)
Lecture on town planning and community housing
To understand assignment. Gather information about the site and the related building code laws. Design drafts, gather all the information necessary to design a community housing
2nd 1st Assignment: Design collective housing building (2) Visit to the site T determine the approximate size of the housing complex, carry out the shade regulation test. Under the orientation of the professor the students should develop several design study drawings (sketches). Handle the design drafts.
3rd CAD practice: Sumiyoshi row house Exucution of architectural drawing using CAD.
4th 1st Assignment:
Design collective housing building (3)
Design process using CAD II: Architectural design composition and position in the site.
5th 1st Assignment:
Design collective housing building (4)
Design process using CAD III: clarify the designed space, construction of floor plan and section drawings
6th 1st Assignment:
Design collective housing building (5)
Design process using CAD IV: Site plan, floor plan, a cross-sectional, elevation, etc., verify the consistency between each drawing.

Design process using CAD VI: Facade and landscape design. Enrich the drawing representation by using CG 3D views.
