Course Objectives
(1) Understand and be able to explain the concepts and technologies necessary to coexist with the natural and socio-cultural environment when designing residences, buildings, and cities.
(2)Understand and be able to explain concepts and applied knowledge related to architectural planning.
(3)Understand concepts related to architectural planning and planning theory and how those ideas are supported by architectural practice and experience. To be able to understand the accumulative effects that historical, cultural and social environments have on architecture, and how architectural planning was constructed in this context.

Teaching Method
Outline:
The objective of this course is to, in addition to the knowledge acquired on the architectural planning 1-4 courses, develop a broader perspective and learn planning techniques for solving real problems. Through the analysis of cases from various social perspectives and different surrounding the students will discuss various issues, ideas and approaches in architectural planning. Students will also learn the architectural planning theory and methods related to contemporary environmental problems.
Style:
Lecture style course and includes working on groups. The Groups will weekly discuss a determined theme related to architectural and urban planning.
Notice:
The students will acquire an applied knowledge of architectural planning and are expected to use it on graduation research. It is desirable that the students who take this course also take architectural history and urban planning courses. The content of this course has a total of 90 hours, and includes self-learning to the study time given during classes, previews, reviews, and assigned reports. 5 absences will be excused.
