到達目標

This course aims to develop the global mindset of engineering students by improving their understanding of various global news and events. Through pair works and group discussions on a wide range of topics related to global issues, students will enhance their critical thinking and analytical skills while also expanding their cultural knowledge and global awareness from various perspectives.　
本講義では、様々な世界ニュース等に通じて、工学系学生のグローバルマインドを養成することを目的とする。グローバルな問題に関連する幅広いトピックについて、ペアワークやグループディスカッションを行うことで、学生の批判的思考力と分析力を向上させるとともに、異文化知識や多角的な知見からなるグローバルな意識の向上を目指す。

教育方法等

概要:

The objective of this course is to cultivate the global communication skills of students, including their abilities to engage in discussion and deliver presentations logically on worldwide news and events. Through collaborative work in pairs and groups, students will tackle a wide range of topics related to global issues, enhancing their critical thinking and analytical skills while also broadening their cultural knowledge and global awareness from multiple perspectives.

授業の進め方・方法:

1. Understanding the impact of globalization on communication.
2. Analyzing the cultural dimensions of communication and how communication can be influenced in different cultural contexts.
3. Examining in pairs and practicing the role of communication in global societies, including negotiations and management.
4. Working and presenting in groups on practical and effective communication for engaging with global audiences, including strategies for cross-cultural communication, localization, and transcreation.

注意点:

To acquire the necessary English communication skills for understanding spoken English, along with the foundational knowledge related to news, active self-study is required.
Learning objectives include developing a broad knowledge base and flexible understanding of various topics related to the global society.
生英語を聞き取るために必要な英語コミュニケーションズ能力および関連ニュースに関する基礎知識を身に備えるため、積極的な自学自習が必要である。

事前学習：英語ネイティブ国の生ニュースを中心に反復的なリスニングプラクティスを行うこと。授業中に用いられるニュースを理解するために必要な情報も事前に調べること。
事後展開学習：授業で学んだ内容を適確に理解し、グローバル社会において様々な意見を英語で表現できるようにすること。

To achieve the objectives of this course, students are expected to understand topics related to global society and provide answers in English to related issues. It is essential to engage in sufficient listening and dictation training until students can comprehend the English news used in the course textbook.
