Course outline : Activities will be conducted as foundational inputs (listening and reading), with special attention to vocabulary and grammar skills. The student will learn to comprehend the content of the English textbooks in various fields. In the process, student will include output such as reading exercises and responses in English as appropriate.

Course method :
(SUMIDA:) The students exercises to grasp the meaning of English accurately in context. Reading is practiced with textbooks and exercises. In addition, through reading exercises in several times and paired discussions, the student will be able to communicate in English. The student will develop practical skills for the language examinations.
(YAMAGUCHI Hitoshi)Basic listening, pronunciation and communication skills are practiced. Recite example sentences, learn grammar points, and practice writing exercises.Listening and pronunciation practice. Grade evaluation method: From the first semester to the second semester, students will be graded on the average of the regular examinations (60%). Students will be graded based on the results of the examinations, quizzes, assignments, and the daily notebook (40%). For the final evaluation at the end of the academic year, the results of the above method are added to the final examinations, converted to 90%, and the results of the GTEC (only reading and listening score in this subject) are added to the evaluation by 10%. Students are not allowed to bring textbooks and notes to the exam. In some cases as diseases, the supplementary exams will be performed.

Precautions on the enrollment : This is a mandatory course for completion of the academic year. It is a course offered throughout the academic year.

Attendance advice : You must actively participate in the classes. Students are encouraged to take qualifications and examinations such as TOEIC, or EIKEN. Please do not enter the room after the start of class as it will interfere with your learning.
