Course outline : This is a Japanese composition class for first-year international students. Students will develop their ability to write sentences in Japanese, and in the future they will work on assignments with gradually increasing difficulty in order to be able to write theoretical Japanese sentences for reports and foreground crossing exercises. They will also learn about kanji and idiomatic expressions that they need to understand in their daily lives and in class, and will practice to be able to write well-organized sentences using them.
Style:
Course method : In the first semester, they will use the textbook to write Japanese essays. In the second semester, they will begin to develop their Japanese writing skills by researching and understanding the topics the teacher has prepared for them, and practicing how to write their own thoughts in writing. The students will continue to practice writing during class time and supplementary classes in order to produce well-formed characters that are easy for the reader to read.
Grade evaluation method : The results of the first and second semester exams (70%), assignments (20%), and attendance (10%) will determine the overall evaluation.
A score of 60 or more is considered a passing grade, and the student will be required to retake the exam if necessary.

Precautions on the enrollment : Students must take this class (no more than one-third of the required number of class hours missed) in order to complete the 1st year course.
Course advice : Students should study up to Lesson 30 of "Minna no Nihongo ShokyuⅡ(2nd Edition)" in advance and understand the contents of the study. There is a lot to learn, so students should prepare and review every day. We also want students to have an interest in the Japanese language and culture.

Attendance advice : If students are late for the start of class, they will be counted as tardy for up to 20 minutes. After that, the student will be marked absent.
