Course Objectives

Learning purposes :
In order to control the machine, it is necessary to know the distance, angle, rotation speed, etc. from the reference point. The purpose is to acquire the ability to control machines by detecting information with various sensors.

Course outline :
Sensor Engineering is a basic technology of mechatronics that goes beyond measurement technology in a narrow sense. And it is an intelligent information system engineering that detects the state of robots and automated machines. The principle of converting to electrical signals using various sensors and applications used for automatic control are explained.
Style:
Course method :
Classes are mainly conducted on the blackboard.Exercises will be given as appropriate.To deepen your understanding, specific explanation is given.

Grade evaluation method :
Exams (60%) +Practice problems (40%).
Regular examinations will be conducted a total of 4 times, and the evaluation ratios will be the same. Retaking exam will be conducted as needed. The retaking exam will be evaluated on max of 80 points, and if the score is higher than the regular exam, it will be replaced with the score of the regular exam.

Precautions on the enrollment :
This is a "class that requires study outside of class hours". Classes are offered for 15 hours per credit, but 30 credit hours are required in addition to this. Follow the instructions of your instructor for these studies.

Course advice :
Since sensor engineering is closely related to Control Engineering, it is important to learn the basics of control engineering as well.
