Course Objectives

Learning objective: To deepen your education and broaden your horizons by learning sociological thinking methods.
Objective: To understand the problems of local communities from the perspective of the humanities and social sciences from multiple perspectives, and to cultivate self-awareness and a desire to contribute proactively to their resolution as a member of the local community.

In this class, we will take up specific issues related to local communities in an individualized manner and aim to understand them sociologically.
Style:
Course method of teaching: Basically, students will be taught in the form of exercises.

Grade evaluation method:
As a general rule, two exams or oral reports are used to evaluate the results (50% x 2)

Note: Students are required to prepare for this course outside of class time. This is a "compulsory course" that requires 15 credit hours per credit, plus 30 credit hours of study. Students must follow the instructions of their instructors regarding this course.

Course Advice: The amount of work involved is vast in comparison to the number of hours in the curriculum. It is not possible to cover all the subjects in a class, so students are encouraged to use the library for independent study.

Faundational subjects: World History(1st year), Ethics(1st), Japanese History(2nd), Politics and Economics(2nd)

Course Advice: There is no penalty for late arrival, but students are expected to have good sense.
