Course Objectives

After completing this course, students will improve in the following areas: 1) Comprehend and use native-style English pronunciation, 2) recall and employ the basic vocabulary required for conversation, 3) employ appropriate grammar and word order for conversation, and 4) employ circumlocution techniques to continue conversation even when misunderstandings have occurred.

Teaching Method

Outline:
身の回りの話題について,英語で議論ができ,英語母語話者と身近な出来事について英語でやりとりができるための練習をする。
Style:
英語によるコミュニケーション練習を積極的に進める。英語によるスピーチ、ディベート、教材を中心に英語でコミュニケーションを取る練習をする。ディクテーションや、シャドウイング、暗唱も多用する。原則として授業は全て英語で行う。自学・自習用にシャドウイング、暗唱の課題を課す。

発表 (30%)+ 態度 (attendance and participation)(40%)+ homework/quizzes (30%)
