到達目標

【到達目標】
This class will help students feel more confident about reading, writing, listening and speaking English. Students will be immersed in English mainly through extensive reading and intensive vocabulary study. In class, students will engage in varied communicative tasks, reviewing basic grammar while using critical thinking skills.

教育方法等

概要:
 The aim of this course is to improve English comprehension and expression using various forms of English discourse relating technology, engineering and design to general knowledge of the humanities and our daily lives. This will be achieved through extensive comprehensible input, (extensive reading and listening) a variety of interactive classroom tasks, (pair work, group work, mini-tests, individual presentations) and through homework tasks (including extensive reading and listening, and intensive vocabulary study. Review of grammar and development of critical thinking skills are central to this course. Extensive reading will be assessed using mreader. Vocabulary knowledge will be assessed using the iCOCET 3300 iPod Touch application and WordEngine.

Students will be assessed through tests and quizzes [60%], classroom activities (participation and short presentations) and homework tasks (including reading, listening and writing tasks) [40%].
