教育方法等

概要:

This full English high intermediate course balances engaging readings with systematic recycling of reading, vocabulary, and grammar skills. It will address the concrete development of (1) career skills and knowledge, (2) the four basic language skills, and (3) language knowledge. The content will mainly target topics of social issues and will aim the development of problem-solving skills in English, where students will be given the opportunity to creatively express ideas in group, pair, and individual settings. The course is designed to develop English at CEF B1-C1 level and is relevant for ETS TOEIC L&R practice.

授業の進め方・方法:

The course will have a theme-based approach to reading. The themes are art, organizations, places, science and technology. Each theme will incorporate reading, vocabulary, grammar and writing tasks. Each Unit will at the end introduce interactive tasks and presentations to help students make creative use of the target language learnt in class. CNN Videos of each theme will be used to stimulate ideas.



Students will activate existing vocabulary and expand working vocabulary using vocabulary acquisition tools. Students will increase reading speed and comprehension through extensive reading. Students will expand critical thinking and communication skills through communicative tasks. Students will improve writing and public speaking skills through presentations.

注意点:

Two tests at the end of each semester which make 60% of the grade
Classroom activities (participation, reports, presentations, creative use of language) make 40% of the grade
