概要:
The aim of this course is to improve English comprehension and expression using various forms of English discourse relating technology, engineering and design to general knowledge of the humanities and our daily lives. This will be achieved through extensive comprehensible input, (extensive reading and listening) a variety of interactive classroom tasks, (pair work, group work, mini-tests, individual presentations) and through homework tasks (including extensive reading and listening, and intensive vocabulary study. Review of grammar and development of critical thinking skills are central to this course. Extensive reading will be assessed using mreader. Vocabulary knowledge will be assessed using the WordEngine.
授業の進め方・方法:
Students will continue to pursue mastery of essential vocabulary, while gaining comprehensible input and fluency through extensive reading. Students will have copious speaking practice during interviews with the instructor as well as various communicative tasks. Focusing on traveling to Taiwan, students will create group presentations in coordination with their social studies classes.

Students will be assessed through tests and quizzes [50%], classroom activities (participation and short presentations) and homework tasks (including reading, listening and writing tasks) [40%]. Group work, participation [10%]
