Moananu: Introduction to task-based speaking activities, debates, discussions and academic vocabulary developement; individual, pair, group speaking activities on pre-determined topics. Debates and discussions on current and relevant topics. vocabulary building through online materials.
SR: Introduction to academic-level presenting and public-speaking skills; focus will be on news, technology and other international business related themes. Students will learn how to create, design and carry out academic level presentations.
概要:
Moananu: (1) To develop critical thinking skills through debates and discussions using authentic and current materials. (2) To develop presentation skills through task-based pair and group presentations on current topics. (3) To motivate students to continue to speak in English. (4) Use of Webtools 2.0 tools to fill in what the physical classroom lacks.
SR: Teacher will devise most of the topics used for individual, pair and group speaking activities as well as presentations and discussions. Student input and suggestions will also be considered.
授業の進め方・方法:
Moananau: The teacher will generate debate, discussion and presentation material from handouts and CALL. The teacher will act as the facilitator while students take the lead role in classroom activities. Students will be encouraged to apply English strategies developed in their first and second years.
SR: Teacher will create, guide, facilitate and evaluate student, pair, group speaking activities. Students must actively participate in all speaking activities.

Moananu: All homework and assignments must be submitted by the deadline. Any make-up examinations due to absence will require a doctor's note or be an "excused" absence.
