到達目標

This course is designed to develop presentation skills in English by providing critical thinking opportunities, model presentations and videos which enable students to practice creating and presenting their thoughts in English using an open-ended format. Knowledge of English vocabulary, transition expressions and grammar is used to simulate question-and-answer situations. Composition and comprehension activities are also utilized in order to continue developing accurate retention of information and speaking fluency.

教育方法等

概要:
This course focuses on listening and speaking skills for giving presentations in English and answering questions posed in a conference setting. Critical thinking opportunities aid students in processing new information and the application of that knowledge is related to real life situations through models, and repeated practice. Composition and comprehension activities are also utilized.
授業の進め方・方法:
1. Develop presentation skills and listening, communication strategies using native English conversation.
2. Gain confidence in speaking and listening and improve composition writing and critical reading skills.
3. Improve communication skills in order to smoothly answer questions posed by peers and perhaps foreign people in a conference setting.
4. Engage in cultural awareness and open-mindedness to others using cultural comparisons.
【授業時間60時間】
注意点:
Students will come to class prepared.
Students using a cellphone in class equals one tardiness on the first warning.
Students will not sleep in the class.
Students will be enthusiastic and enjoy themselves.
